Prophecies of Nostradamus 5 disc set 1974
Incredible 5-disc DVD set of this Japanese Sci-fi classic more commonly known in the U.S. as The Last Days of Planet Earth. Here's the breakdown:
Disc One: Nosutoradamasu no Daiyogen [114 minutes/Japanese/optional English subtitles]
This is the original uncut Japanese version of the film in its original
2.35:1 widescreen, sourced from a dupe of a timecoded master dating
back to Toho's intended (but never realized) 1988 laserdisc/VHS release.
Includes soundtrack only track as well as an informative commentary from Ted Johnson.
Disc Two: Prophecies of Nostradamus [90 minutes/English Dubbed]
This is the English language International release cut of the film,
which is missing a number of the more dramatic moments of the film.

Disc Three: La Fin Du Monde D'Apres Nostradamus and Weltkatastrophe 1999
These are the uber-rare French and German cuts of the film, both
running around 70 minutes and presented in 2.00:1 widescreen with no
subtitles. The French cut is particularly interesting in that whole
scenes have been shifted in position throughout the film to create, if
imaginable, an even weirder cut than the original.

Disc Four: The Last Days of Planet Earth [88 Minutes/English Dubbed]
This is the UPA television version, full-screen only. Easily the worst cut of them all, this is how most
of us in the US (and elsewhere) saw Prophecies of Nostradamus first.

Disc Five: Extras
Two versions of the soundtrack (the original monophonic and the utterly
warped original stereophonic version, featuring alternate version of
the soundtrack cues you're familiar with), hundreds of images (in three
galleries), the original Danish VHS version of the International cut of
the film (1.85:1 widescreen, approximately) plus more.
DVDs are DVD-R technology. DVD-R discs are compatible with most newer DVD players from approximately 2002 and up. Virtually all future players from major companies will be DVD-R compatible and many current DVD players are DVD-R compatible even though this format may not be listed on their disc compatibility charts. Please be advised that it is YOUR responsibility to verify that your player is capable of playing DVD-Rs. Due to the vast variety of DVD players, we will NOT accept returns on these items due to incompatibility. Though many do, for the most part, these discs usually do not contain any type of additional or "bonus" materials sometimes associated with commercial or factory releases.
