AN ANGEL FOR SATAN Barbara Steele with English subs '67
One of the last and most interesting Italian horror productions
featuring the alluring Barbara Steele, this obscure feature from
'Crypt of the Vampire' director Camillo Mastrocinque apparently
never found distribution in English, and dubbed or subtitled prints
are all but impossible to find...UNTIL NOW.
Steele's character in the film is haunted by a decrepit statue
submerged in a lake, whose features look disturbingly like her own.
Upon complete restoration of the statue, Steele begins to take on the
psychotic traits of the woman upon whom the sculpture was based --
a woman the townspeople believe was a much-feared sorceress of
local legend. Curious fans of the sultry horror star will find much to
enjoy, even in the Italian-language version -- Steele's magnetic
performance and the strong visuals propel the story quite well.
** This Special DVD features not only perhaps the first English
subtitled print of this Italian horror, but also contains BOTH the
WIDESCREEN and FULL SCREEN prints of the film! **
DVDs are DVD-R technology. DVD-R discs are compatible with most newer DVD players from approximately 2002 and up. Virtually all future players from major companies will be DVD-R compatible and many current DVD players are DVD-R compatible even though this format may not be listed on their disc compatibility charts. Though many do, for the most part, these discs usually do not contain any type of additional or "bonus" materials sometimes associated with commercial or factory releases.
