Jack the Ripper 6 part BBC Documentary (1973)
A solid sober account of the theories surrounding identity of Jack the
Ripper as of 1973. Barlow and Watt of TV's Z Cars go on a 'busman's
holiday' examining the surviving police files on the infamous murder
case in an attempt to identify the elusive killer. Witness statements
are re-enacted and there is effective use of East End locations. The
cast give understated performances, in keeping with the forensic
examination of the evidence. This production is a great deal more
exciting, not to say, educational, than any of the big budget flatulent
Hollywood efforts of recent years.

Virtually all future players from major companies will be DVD-R compatible and many current DVD players are DVD-R compatible even though this format may not be listed on their disc compatibility charts. Though many do, for the most part, these discs usually do not contain any type of additional or "bonus" materials sometimes associated with commercial or factory releases.
