Long considered by many as the "Holy Grail" of bad cinema, the re-cut MUSICAL re-release version of "Jack The Giant Killer" was originally is perhaps Hollywood's most blatant attempt to pilfer lunch money from the kiddies. Few people know of its existence. Fewer still have actually screened it.

In 1976, in an attempt to soften the grimness, intensity and horror of the original release and to cash in on the family market, the beleaguered film was ineptly transformed into a musical. Incredibly, utilizing existing footage, the film was re-titled, re-edited and re-scored with musical composers synchronizing new song lyrics over actors’ original spoken lines. Some voices were even replaced altogether. A vast array of optical printing “tricks” were employed, including altering running speeds, reversing footage, optical zooms, pans, etc. The result was the creation of this celluloid Frankenstein. An epic which richly deserves its place in that sacred pantheon of bad cinema.

Gloriously and hilariously awful, this cinematic train wreck will cause even your most jaded friends jaws to drop.

Very nice, but not perfect quality. About a good 7 to 7.5 out of possible 10.
