MY MOTHER THE CAR 1965 TV series All 30 episodes
Considered by many to be the PLAN 9 of television series, the fact that this thing ever got "green lighted" is amazing. Jerry Van Dyke (who rumor has it turned down the lead in GILLIGAN'S ISLAND to star in this!!) plays a man looking to buy a car on a used car lot. His gaze is drawn to a run-down 1928 "PORTER". When he sits in it to check it out, the car starts talking to him via it's radio. Nowadays that would merely be the hallmark of a David Lynch flick, but in 1965 the voice was Ann Southern playing the man's deceased mother who had returned from the dead as the car!! No....I am NOT making this up. The rest of the series involved his "wacky" adventures with his four-wheeled mom as well as his efforts to keep mom from the dastardly clutches of rare auto collector Avery Schreiber. All 30 episodes of this short-lived (hard to believe that this gem didn't last long, eh?), but fondly-remembered series on a 9 DVD set.

Though many do, for the most part, these discs usually do not contain any type of additional or "bonus" materials sometimes associated with commercial or factory releases.
