BATTLE IN OUTER SPACE 1959 2-disc set
With his name firmly ensconced in film history as the creator of the Godzilla and Rodan films, director Inoshiro Honda continues to shape and mold a dramatic sci-fi story in Battle in Outer Space. As in the record-setting Star Wars sagas of the future, special effects also get star billing here. The nations of the earth are banding together to fight off invaders from outer space. At the core of their defense is an attack in which two space ships from the earth land on the moon -- the aliens have set up their base of operations there. But this pre-emptive strike is not enough because back on terra firma, heat-ray guns are called into action as the invasion of flying saucers swings into a full-scale operation. Parents will soon note that this outer space rumble is geared to the youngsters in the audience. A semi-sequel to THE MYSTERIANS. This 2-disc set features BOTH the Japanese-language, english-subtitled version and the english-dubbed version.
DVDs are DVD-R technology. DVD-R discs are compatible with most newer DVD players from approximately 2002 and up. Virtually all future players from major companies will be DVD-R compatible and many current DVD players are DVD-R compatible even though this format may not be listed on their disc compatibility charts. Please be advised that it is YOUR responsibility to verify that your player is capable of playing DVD-Rs. Due to the vast variety of DVD players, we will NOT accept returns on these items due to incompatibility. Though many do, for the most part, these discs usually do not contain any type of additional or "bonus" materials sometimes associated with commercial or factory releases.
