'57 Leblanc Clarinet Photos PeteFountain Buddy DeFranco
Seven different original promotional photos for Leblanc instruments. Six of them feature Leblanc clarinets and one features a Leblanc trumpet (Manny Klein). These would have been issued from around 1955 (Manny Klein, based on the two movies mentioned) to 1956-1958 (Lawrence Welk clarinet choir that mentions the Saturday & Monday ABC shows that ran from 1956-58) to 1959 or later for the Pete Fountain Coral Records. Each measures 8" x 10". The first four I list are double-weight photos. The first one is Pete Fountain Leblanc Recording Star. The next one is Pete Fountain and has a Coral Records logo. The third one is Buddy De Franco "The King of the clarinet - Winner of many Down Beat and Metronome Poles". The fourth is "Lawrence Welk and his Leblanc Clarinet Choir" featuring Orie Amodeo, Pete Fountain, , Russ Klein, Jack Martin, and Dick Dale (This photo has some creases along the right side). The fifth photo is of Sam Most "Famous Clarinet Jazz Soloist", The sixth one is Rolf Kuhn "Winner of Down Beat's New Star Poll". The seventh one is Manny Klein playing a Leblanc trumpet. (This last photo has a couple creases and marks. On the back someone wrote May 18, 1956) All the photos are in very good condition, except where mentioned. A NICE GROUP OF PHOTOS WHICH WOULD BE NICE FOR A LEBLANC OR JAZZ COLLECTOR! These came from an old record store about 15 years ago. The record store had been in business since the 1940s.
