'28 Capitol Theatre Program Greta Garbo Mysterious Lady
This includes two different Capitol Theatre programs related to the showing of The Mysterious Lady starring Greta Garbo and Conrad Nagel. The Greater Capitol Theatre was located in New York City at Broadway and 51st Street. Each program measures 5" x 7-1/4" and has 8 pages. The first one is from August 3, 1928 and featured the two-reel technicolor film "Cleopatra" with Dorothy Revier and Robert Ellis and Beau Broadway with Sue Carol, Lew Cody, and Aileen Pringle. Besides these two movies there was a Capitol Magazine, a Capitol Presentation of Greewich Village and an organ recessional. The third page is a full-page ad for "Next Week - On the screen the incomparable Greta Garbo in Mysterious Lady. The back cover has a full-page photo of Greta Garbo and Conrad Nagel in the Mysterious Lady. The program is in fair condition because of creases - the original owner wrote the date on the top of the cover along with "Dorothy and I" - there is a small tear at the bottom of the cover and a small tear on the back cover. The second program is from the next day and is for the showing of The Mysterious Lady. On the bill besides the Garbo film was: Slavonic Rhapsody by the orchestra, Capitol Magazine, Winter Sports Capitol Presentation. The second page has an ad for Coming Soon - Marion Davies in Her Cardboard Lover. There is a full-page ad and a full-page photo advertising John Gilbert and Joan Crawford in "Four Walls". This program is in excellent condition - except the original owner wrote the date on the front cover. A NICE EARLY PAIR OF NYC / GARBO RELATED PROGRAMS! Postage is $4.00.
