1964 Hawk Model Kit Silly Surfers Ads Schwinn Stingray
This is the Sept, 1964 issueof American Bicyclist and Motorcyclist. This magazine measures 8-1/4" x 11" and has 70 pages. There is a full page ad for "A New Wave of profit makers" - The New Silly Surfer model kits from Hawk Model Company. The ad shows four different models and mentions a special promotion where dealers who order 24 kits get 6 albums of Surfin songs that they can sell with the models. The models retail for $1 each and the ad tells about their nationwide magazine advertising blitz. On the facing page there is a full page article on the new line of surfing models by Hawk "Cute girl in bikini suggest new hobby". There is a photo of the bikini girl who introduced Hawk's sales reps to the new product line. There is a full-page ad for the Schwinn Sting-Ray (only $66.95). There are lots of ads including: Columbia bikes, Murray Thunder Rod tricycles, a Cushman Silver Eagle mention with drawing, The magazine is in good condition - it has a mailing label on the cover - there is toning along the right edge of the cover - there are some creases in the lower right hand corner of the first few pages. A NICE HAWK MODEL / BICYCLE COLLECTIBLE - THE TWO PAGE SPREAD ON HAWK MODELS WOULD LOOK GREAT FRAMED! Postage is $6.
