1936-38 University of Chicago Mags Programs Letter etc.
This is a group of 17 items related to a Jane Morris who attended the University of Chicago. These items are dated from 1936 to 1938. All the items were removed from a tattered scrapbook and most have the scrapbook paper still attached to the back. I'll list them from largest to smallest. The first one is issue #5 January, 1938 of the Pulse Student Magazine. This was the fraternity issue and has 7-1/2 pages on fraternities including a 2 page chart of Greek letters compared - listing all the fraternities, number of men in each, club preference, activities headed, sanitary facilities, favorite beverages, local hero, Republicans, mascot, sholastic standing and other great stuff. The next two items are Blackfriers programs from 1937 and 1938 ("One foot in the Aisle" & "Where in the World") Each of these programs has 32 pages. In each there are photos of the actors, staff, etc. Inside the 1937 issue there were two flyers - one for the new issue of the Phoenix and a card stock flyer for "After the show tonight - International House - Carnival of Nations". The next two items are Freshman Week programs from 1936-37 and 1937-38. (The original owner made a few notes in the 1936 one.) The next two items are an ID card for Freshman week 1936 and a card with the woman's room assigment for Freshman Week. There are two Seat number cards with the matching card for grades attached to scrapbook pages. There are 2 Registrar single grade cards. There are two Office of Registrar paper sheets that lists quarter grades + additional card with the original mailing envelope. There is a letter and certificate certifying that the student had completed the exams in fulfillment of the requirements of the junior college. There is a letter from the Del Rio Club inviting the student to tea at Le Petit Gourmet. The last item is a small bid card for a Flood Relief Benefit Dance at the International House in Feb , 1937. Most of the items are in good condition except for the scarbook remnants on the back. A NICE GROUP OF UNIVERSITY OF CHICAGO MEMORABILIA! Parcel post postage would be $8.00
