30s Hicks Dairy Snapshots Rural Durant Oklahoma Cows OK
This is a group of five old snapshots that are from around 1930 showing a dairy. Each measures 3" x 4-3/4" and each has "Hicks Dairy" handwritten on the back. Other photos I got in this group were from people who lived (or got their photos processed in) Elkhart, Kansas and Dodge City, Kansas and the other ones were dated 1927 and 1929. Another photo in this group mentioned Durant. The closest Durant I could find was Durant, Oklahoma, so there is a possibility this Hicks Dairy might have been near Durant, Oklahoma and I estimate these are from between 1927-1933. (Of course, the other photos were processed in Kansas, so this could be from Kansas or Oklahoma or another neighboring state.) In a couple of the photos you can see mountains in the background. The first shows a man carrying two large milk cans from one building. The second photo shows a woman standing next to a building with a cup of coffee. On the back is written "Cookie Hicks Dairy", so I'm guessing her name is Cookie. The third photo shows a photo which shows most of the Dairy, the barns, other buildings, what could be a couple of milk trucks in the background. The fourth photo shows cows in a corral, looks like most of them are eating ("Hicks Dairy" is written on the front of this photo). The fifth one shows the Dairy from a long distance. The photos are in good condition - they are slightly yellowed with age - they are slightly curled (see photo) - the first four each have a small crease - there are a few light scratches. A NICE GROUP OF PHOTOS FROM AN OLD DAIRY! Postage is $2.50 .
