Pre-1981 Law Enforcement Police Explorer Hat Shield
This is an old a historical National Association of Law Enforcement Explorers hat shield. This is not dated, but checking the internet I found that this association was dissolved in 1981, so this has to be from 1981 or before. The hat shield measures 2-1/2" wide x 2-1/2" and is heavy silver colored metal. The screw nut is present on the back. The little hook on the back that would dig into the front of the hat and keep the shield from moving is broken off. #8 is scratched into the back along with a post number and location. The hat shield is in good condition - there are a couple nicks to the ceramic paint in the insignia. A NICE COLLECTIBLE FOR A EXPLORER COLLECTOR! Postage is $3.50. According to my research the National Association of Law Enforcement Explorers disolved in 1981.
