This is an original glass slide that was sent to a movie theater in Green Bay, WI between 1916 & 1918 to show between films giving current news and events. This glass slide's caption is "American troops leaving an Atlantic port for 'somewhere in France". Hundreds of relatives were on the pier to bid them farewell. The American force abroad daily is growing bigger." "Shown through courtesy of Joannes Bros. Company - Home of Martha Washington Pure Food Products". This glass slide was produced by the American Press Association of New York City. The slide measures 3-1/4" x 4". The glass slide is in fair condition - there is some light dirt and a few small marks - the tape border along the right edge is gone - the tape is a little loose in the upper right and lower right corner - there is some discoloration in the bottom of the slide where the words are.
