1917 WWI War Effort Woman Drives Trolley Glass Slide
This is an original glass slide that was sent to a movie theater in Green Bay, WI between 1916 & 1918 to show between films giving current news and events. This glass slide's caption is "French women , so as to enable their brothers, sweethearts, and husbands to go to the front have taken their places. All trolley cars are run by women, and run well too." "Shown through courtesy of Joannes Bros. Company - Home of Martha Washington Pure Food Products". This glass slide was produced by the American Press Association of New York City. Not dated but would be sometime between 1916 and 1918 based on other ones I got in this group. The slide measures 3-1/4" x 4". The glass slide is in good condition - there is some light dirt and a few small marks. A NICE PIECE OF WWI / NEWS MEMORABILIA! Postage is $3.50. Check out my other auctions for more of these World War I glass slides. Each additional slide would be one more $1 to ship. Buy four of these glass slides and I'll thrown in the original box they were shipped in to the theatre.
