1933 World's Fair Ukrainian Group Stationery Pre-Fair 4
This is a group of four different original pieces of stationery from the Ukrainian Group at the 1933 World's Fair. Each sheet measures 8-1/2" x 11". At least the first two pieces of stationery are from the early days of planning for the World's Fair as they use "Chicago World's Fair Centennial Celebration" at the top. "Centennial Celebration" was the original term used in the late 1920s for the World's Fair prior to them titling it "A Century of Progress". The first two sheets would most likely be from 1928 or 1929. The other two could be from 1930-1933. The first sheet uses the official stationery used by the Centennial Celebration committee with the names and titles going along the left edge being unique to the Ukrainian Group. At the bottom of the sheet in red is "Have YOU Paid YOUR $5.00 for the World's Fair?" which refers to membership in the World's Fair Legion. For $5 you gave early support to the fair and got a booklet with 10 free admissions when the fair opened. The second sheet has "Chicago World's Fair Centennial Celebration" at the top with the Ukrainan Group using the address of 77 West Washington. The third and fourth sheets have "Ukrainian Chicago World's Fair Exhibit" at the top along with "Incorporated Under the Law Of Illinois". The third sheet uses an Cottage Grove street address and the fourth sheet uses a Chicago Ave. address. The third and fourth sheets have a few different names of personnel, so they would have been from somewhat different times. The four sheets of stationery are in very good condition and unused - they are somewhat yellowed with age - the first one has light toning along the left edge - the second one has a small nick along the bottom - the fourth one has a couple smaller creases in the lower left hand corner and a couple small spots along the right edge.
