1961 Doug McClure Checkmate Chicago TV News Local Guide
This is the Chicago Daily TV News magazine from the week of May 21, 1961. This magazine was given away free inside the Sunday Daily News in the Chicago area and it has all the listings for Chicago TV shows for the week. It measures 5-1/4" x 7-1/2" and has 42 pages. The Checkmate TV show is featured on the cover with cast members Doug McClure, Anthony George, and Sebastian Cabot. There is a half page story on Checkmate inside. The magazine is in good condition - there is a line of residue on the back cover from glue that was used to adhere the TV magazine to the newspaper when it was issued - the pages are yellowed with age - the crossword puzzle inside has been filled out in pencil - there are a few wrinkles on the cover. Local TV magazines are much harder to find than the nationally issued TV Guide. This TV News was only available in the Chicago area. A NICE PIECE OF CHECKMATE / CHICAGO TV HISTORY! Postage is $3.75.
