1977 Kinks Arista Records Store Display Sleepwalker
This is an original record store standee made by Arista Records to promote the Kinks LP "Sleepwalker" - (Arista AL4106). The standee is an album cover with the back cover machine cut, so that flaps on the back could be swung out and the cover could sit upright on record store counter or in its window. The back cover also had tabs cut at the top and bottom so that the record store owner could flip the top and bottom one out to tape or tac it up to the wall. I purchased this about 15 years ago when I cleaned out an old record store that had been open for over 50 years. I purchased many promotional displays that had been sitting in the back of the store, some were from the 1940s! The standee is in fair condition because it is a dark background and there are light scuff marks on it - the top fold-up tab is folded up - there are a few small creases - the bottom fold-out tab is creased. A HARD-TO-FIND KINKS PROMOTIONAL DISPLAY! Postage is $6.00.
