1940s Pat Patterson's Steak House Menu Glencoe IL Skokie Road Roadhouse
This is an original menu from Pat Patterson's Steak House, Bar and Liquor Store, located on Skokie Road in Glencoe, Illinois (though I am imagine this was an unicorporated area at the time, with Glencoe being the nearest town). It measures 8-1/2" x 11-1/4" and is on thin card stock. It is one page, printed on both sides. This place was open from 7am to 2am. Not dated, but judging by the prices - Martini 50 cents (raised to 60 cents), T-bone steak 1-1/2 pound for 1.25, Lobster Tail $1.25, etc. - I believe this would probably date from the 1940s. (I found a couple mentions in Chicago Tribune archives about this steak house located on Skokie Road near County Line in the 1950s. They describe it as a roadhouse and mention an owner with the same last name may have operated it previously under the name the Sky Rocket - but I'm not sure if this was the same location.) The menu is in good condition - it has light dirt on both sides - there are some light creases - there are a couple small stains - "BQ Ribs 1.50" is written in one one side and on the opposite side the prices for the drinks have been scratched out and raised about a nickel each. A NICE PIECE OF EPHEMERA FROM THE GLENCOE AREA! Postage is $3.75.
