1964 TV News Fall Preview Bert Parks Miss America Carl Reiner Local Guide IN
This is the September 12, 1964 issue of TV News, a weekly Indianapolis television magazine with listings for all the local shows. It measures 5" x 7-5/16" and has 40 pages. Miss America, Bert Parks, and Bess Myerson are featured on the cover. There is a one page story on the Miss America pageant. There are two pages on the new fall season: "Calendar of new network shows beginning this week." and "Season premieres of returning series this week". (Sorry, no photos from the new shows) Some of the stand-outs starting this season: Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, Shindig, Peyton Place, Bewitched, Jonny Quest, the Addams Family, 12 O'Clock High, etc. The back cover has an ad by NBC listing its shows, with the new ones in red: Alfred Hitchcock, Daniel Boone, UNCLE (Man from Uncle ?) Flipper , Mr. Magoo, etc. There is a 1-1/2 page article on Carl Reiner. There is a one page article on Joyce Jameson. The TV magazine is in good condition - there is a subscription address on the back cover - there are a couple light marks on the cover - there is light dirt on the back cover - there are a couple very small tears at the top of the front cover - there is a 4" vertical crease on the left side of the cover - the back cover is yellowed - the back cover has circular wrinkles from a cup being placed on top of it. This goes through a couple pages in the back. Local TV magazines are much harder-to-find than the nationally distributed TV Guide. This magazine would only have been distributed in Indiana.
