1995 Jack Higgins Orig Editorial Cartoon Art Gen Colin Powell Presidential Run
This is the original artwork by Jack Higgins for his Chicago Sun-Times editorial cartoon dated 1995. The artwork shows General Colin Powell with "Please Stand By" incorporated into his military ribbons. In 1995 General Colin Powell declared himself a Republican and campaigned for some Republican candidates. Some Republicans thought he would be a good candidate to go against Bill Clinton in 1996, but Colin Powell declined to run. The artwork measures approx. 11-1/2" x 14-1/2". This is the original artwork that Jack Higgins created. The artwork is in good condition - there are a few small marks/smudges/ light dirt on the art - there are editor notes written along the left edge - there are a couple small scribbles in the lower right hand corner. A NICE, ONE-OF-A-KIND PIECE OF EDITORIAL ARTWORK THAT WOULD LOOK GREAT FRAMED! When packed, this will ship at the 2 pound rate - check the postage calculator. Jack Higgins has worked at the Chicago Sun-Times for over 35 years and won a Pulitzer Prize for Editorial Cartooning in 1989. Check out my listings for a few other cartoons by Jack Higgins.
