1988 Congress Overrides Reagan Veto Civil Rights Bill Jack Higgins Editorial Art
This is the original artwork by Jack Higgins for his Chicago Sun-Times editorial cartoon dated 1988 on the front. On the back there is a date stamp of March 23, 1988 at 5:44 p.m.. so this probably was published around March 24, 1988, two days after the House of Representatives, as the Senate had previously done, voted to override President Ronald Reagan's veto of the Civil Rights Restoration Act of 1987. The cartoon reads "We Shall Over-Ride..." while Reagan holds a VETO stamp over the Civil Rights Bill. The artwork measures approx. 10-1/2" x 14-3/4". This is the original artwork that Jack Higgins created. On the back you can see some markings / notes made by Sun-Times editors. The artwork is in good condition - there are some light corrections and touch-ups on the art - there are a few small marks/smudges on the art. A NICE, ONE-OF-A-KIND PIECE OF EDITORIAL ARTWORK THAT WOULD LOOK GREAT FRAMED! When packed, this will ship at the 2 pound rate - check the postage calculator. Jack Higgins has worked at the Chicago Sun-Times for over 35 years and won a Pulitzer Prize for Editorial Cartooning in 1989. Check out my listings for a few other cartoons by Jack Higgins.
