1995 Jack Higgins Orig Cartoon Amtrak Cash Crisis City of New Orleans Railroad
This is the original artwork by Jack Higgins for his Chicago Sun-Times editorial cartoon dated 1995. The artwork probably refers to the Amtrak cash crisis in 1995. The song lyric above the train in the art "This Train's got the Disappearin' Railroad Blues..." refers to Steve Goodman's 1971 song "City of New Orleans". The artwork measures approx. 11-5/8" x 14-1/2". This is the original artwork that Jack Higgins created. The artwork is in good condition - there are a few small marks/smudges - there are a couple small scribbles on the bottom margin - there is a number written in red pen in the lower left hand corner. A NICE, ONE-OF-A-KIND PIECE OF EDITORIAL ARTWORK THAT WOULD LOOK GREAT FRAMED! When packed, this will ship at the 2 pound rate - check the postage calculator. Jack Higgins has worked at the Chicago Sun-Times for over 35 years and won a Pulitzer Prize for Editorial Cartooning in 1989. Check out my other listings for other cartoons by Jack Higgins.
