1981 Mayor Jane Byrne Orig Cartoon Agatha Christie Jack Higgins Mystery Writers
This is the original artwork by Jack Higgins for his Chicago Sun-Times editorial cartoon dated 1981. (The first year Jack Higgins worked for the Chicago Sun-Times) The artwork deals with "Great Mystery Writers of Our Time - Agatha Christie, Mickey Spillane, Alfred Hitchcock and Jane Byrne". Chicago Mayor Jane Byrne is shown paging through her budget. The artwork measures approx. 11-5/8" x 17-1/2". This is the original artwork that Jack Higgins created. The artwork is in good condition - there are a few small marks/smudges/light dirt on the art - there are some editor's notes written on the top margin - there are some corrections made by the artist as he perfected the artwork - there is a 1/2" wide strip of light dirt on the left border - there is a 1" diagonal crease in the lower left hand corner - there is a 1-1/2" diagonal crease in the lower right hand corner - there is a 1" diagonal crease in the upper right hand corner, with a smaller one above it - on the back there are some spots from ink from other pieces of his artwork that was stored underneath this one - there is some light dirt on the back - there is a 2" x 1" surface tear on the back. A NICE, ONE-OF-A-KIND PIECE OF EDITORIAL ARTWORK THAT WOULD LOOK GREAT FRAMED! When packed, this will ship at the 2 pound rate - check the postage calculator.
