Vintage Glass OR Crystal Art Deco Powder or Trinket Box
This is a gorgeous glass or crystal container! I am not sure of the age but believe it to be from the Art nouveau period. I purchased it from an estate of a woman who collected lots of beautiful antiques. I had planned on keeping it for myself but I have waaaaaaaaay to much and have to down size ...or buy a larger house and ummm I dont think that is going to happen any time soon!
I am not sure if this is just glass or if it is Crystal I am leaning towards crystal because it is so heavy! It is 5 1/4" long by 3 1/4" wide and 2 1/2" deep (with lid). It is a beautiful piece the bottom design is identical to the top (lid) design except the lids diamond sticks out a bit further! It can be used for just about anything. Jewelry, trinkets, powder, money (spare change) and if you have or are a husband (or significant other) like mine you may find nails and screws... in there......*sigh* guys please respect these treasures!
One thing I noticed about it is that when the lid is off, it can be used seperate as a small serving dish! So this little box can turn into 2 small serving pieces, the bottom half is an oblong bowl and the lid a little tray! Neat huh!
As for the condition if you look at picture 4 (the lid) you will see where there is chipping on one side, it is the part that fits into the container so you can not see it at all when the lid is on. Also it is obvious that over the years the lid was used seperately because there is some very minor scratching on the diamond, but strangely I haven't found any on the bottom! The inside of the box where the lid is chipped feels like it has some scratching obviously because of the rough edges of the lid brushing against it when its lifted up and put back down.
Quite honestly I think this is a wonderful piece though and I didnt hesitate to buy it. The flaws are really unnoticable to people who just gaze at it and are not looking for them. And as with all my treasures, I offer a money back guarentee (less shipping) if your dissatisfied.
As with any of my antiques or vintage pieces, they are one of a kind. I am not saying you may not find something identical or similar out there, but you more than likely you will not find a piece like it in my store. And the chances of me having another one like it in the future are slim. I spend a lot of time looking for treasures that will make people happy!

Insurance is optional but I highly recommend it! I have personal received items packed so well that the bubble wrap weighed more than the items, and they were still broken because our postal carriers do not care about our merchandise and treat out packages roughly! Throw them around toss them on belts and trucks. So please consider insurance. I will package this item very well and will not take responsibility for the mistreatment of our postal services. (P.S.) If you take insurance I will insure it for the highest amount that $1.70 goes to which is $50.00 So if God forbid it does break you can at least get back more than you paid for it. But still it is really devistating to open a package and fine something that survived many years destroyed because of lack of respect. So I feel the additional in insurance is compansation for your pain and suffering ;) besides I am sure it would be worth more than $50.00 you had it appraised.
