Cute figurine of 19th Century lil Boy w/ Desk & phone
This is a very cute figurine of a little boy dressed from the late 1800's or early 1900's using a phone that looks like a very early modal. He is sitting at his desk with a couple books one is open and and he is sheltered under a little umbrella or parasol (that actually can be removed from the figurine and not because its broken but because it was made that way!) The figurine seems to be porcelain. The parasol is porcelain and metal.
Measures 5" from top of parasol and 3'5" wide.
I have no idea how old this piece is. I purchased from a thrift shop where I have come accross alot of antiques! It looked and looks vintage to me. Unfortunately there are no telling marks (that I am aware of) I am not a total expert on antiques. But no markings on the bottom. Except for 2 holes or should I say openings.
It is in very good condition... the only thing that maybe wrong with it is there is a hole in the little phone stand on the desk but it may be there because that is where he would hang the little hand piece up.... so I am not sure if its a defect or not.
As with any of my antiques or vintage pieces, they are one of a kind. I am not saying you may not find something identical or similar out there, but you more than likely you will not find a piece like it in my store. And the chances of me having another one like it in the future are slim. I spend a lot of time looking for treasures that will make people happy!
