Welcome to the auction of a original rolled near mint to mint condition American 14 by 36 inch insert size movie poster of 2001 : A Space Odyssey , directed by Stanley Kubrick. This poster was autographed in blue sharpie pen by two of the film's stars GARY LOCKWOOD and KEIR DULLEA . Both attended the THE HOLLYWOOD SHOW here in L.A. at the Burbank Marriot hotel to sign autographs in 2012 . I had several pieces signed by both at that time , I did so well with these pieces , I arranged thru THE HOLLYWOOD SHOW a exclusive private signing for my material only with these 2 legendary stars and they autographed over a hundred pieces for me on April 15, 2013 here in Los Angeles and the PHOTO of them included in this listing is of this session, on this date, for exclusively my stuff only and show my posters that I had signed by both . I do not have or offer SO PLEASE DON'T ASK ME any COA , that's a certificate of authenticity with this poster , if the photo in this auction of the star's themselves holding the poster being offered isn't enough to satisfy your concern's then I have failed you - but if that's O.K. then I am overjoyed with your satisfaction. PLEASE DON'T ASSUME THE POSTER IN THE PHOTO IS THE EXACT EXAMPLE YOU WILL BE GETTING- IT IS NOT !!!! I HAD MANY, MANY POSTERS SIGNED OF EACH KIND OF POSTER I HAD - SO THE AUTOGRAPH'S EXACT PLACEMENT ON THE POSTER WILL VARY SLIGHTLY ON THE EXAMPLE YOU RECIEVE FROM THE PHOTO'S IN THIS AUCTION, AS WELL AS THE SIGNATURE ITSELF, AND THE THICKNESS AND DARKNESS OF THE SHARPIE PEN'S WRITING THEY USED TOO !!!!. If you look carefully you will see the example of the poster in the photo with the stars has the signature's in a slightly different position then the photo of the poster alone for instance. ABOUT THE POSTER --------------This poster has a interesting history , the company filmprints, Inc. had put out quite a few beautiful licensed movie posters like there very well done FORBIDDEN PLANET half sheet by the time this poster came up , it is a fully licensed COMMERCIAL poster that was using the original release insert size movie poster artwork and was published in 1995 on thick paper exactly like the American insert size movie posters used to be printed on before they were discontinued in the mid-nineteen eighties. I bought a large quantity of these from them in 1995, in fact I was in a way part of the publishing and one of the largest buyers of this poster from Filmprints, Inc. . Let me explain , I did not want on the poster the logo/ writing CLASSICS COLLECTION at the bottom edge at the middle , in fact I told them it was quite lame and useless to put it on the poster and if they did , I didn't want any of the posters - so mine were all printed without this - which you can see isn't there on my photo's. I have created a close-up photo from a example of this poster that had this logo on it as all of them did but mine, and it is included at the bottom. I have also included a close-up of how they chose to do the lower right corner of the piece and this was how all examples looked .
