Welcome to the auction of a absolutely guaranteed original very fine to near mint condition American 1978 vintage Commercial Poster (made to be sold directly to the public and measure 21" x 30" [53 x 76 cm]) of SUPERMAN. Superman: The Movie, the 1978 Richard Donner directed science fiction D.C. Comics comic book superhero action fantasy thriller ("You'll believe a man can fly."; "Screenplay by Mario Puzo, David Newman, Leslie Newman and Robert Benton"; "Story by Mario Puzo") stars Marlon Brando (as Jor-El), Gene Hackman (as Lex Luthor), Christopher Reeve (in the title role as Superman/Clark Kent), Ned Beatty, Jackie Cooper (as Perry White), Glenn Ford (as Jonathan Kent), Trevor Howard, and Margot Kidder (as Lois Lane). NOTE- that this is a commercial poster that was created by "Reflective Art". These posters were created in 1978 in Southern California but the company did not secure the rights from the studio. Therefore, the posters were not sold to the public and were to be destroyed (but luckily some survived). Also note that these posters (like all foil posters) are EXTREMELY difficult to photograph! the top image is a scan -THE REST ARE DIGITAL CAMERA SHOTS OF THE POSTER - ALL show STRANGE IMAGES in the image, which is merely reflections from the poster, and is NOT on the actual poster. THE EXAMPLES I HAVE ARE ALL IN AT LEAST THE VERY FINE CONDITION GRADE. They are "foil" posters meaning that they are printed on a shiny aluminum foil-like surface. This foil can be damaged quite easily and because of that, foil posters are very very difficult to find in great condition.
