Sir Douglas Quintet Avalon Ballroom Family Dog #30 2nd or 3rd printing "type B" dance concert promotional poster. It is 13 7/8 by 19 3/16th inches and is linenbacked now and was in pretty rough shape with the tips of the corners missing from being ripped off the poles it was posted on but has nice bright colors at least . This poster has some very minor paper replacement and restoration on the border areas and corners only . This scan is of the actual poster for sale . Add $12 for shipping IN A VERY THICK TUBE to your winning bid. International shipping would be $24 . SOME BACKGROUND INFO ON THIS POSTER. There are two very early printings of this poster. One poster, with a print run of 2,000 posters, was printed prior to the shows. The second print run, with a print run of 1,000 posters, was printed shortly after the concert. The two posters are distinguishable, as I will detail, but it is not known which poster is from the pre-show run, and which is from the post-show run. Both posters were printed on vellum paper stock by the Bindweed Press, San Francisco, and both posters measure approx. 14 1/8" x 20".
One of these early posters (we will call it Type A) has a "Family Dog 1966 Mouse Studios" credit in the bottom margin that appears to be bluish/lavender in color. The other early poster (we will call it Type B) has a "Family Dog 1966 Mouse Studios" credit in the bottom margin that appears to be black (or near black) in color. The third print poster was printed on a regular index paper stock, and bears the notation "No. 30-3" in the lower left corner. It was most probably printed in 1967. It has the same measurements as both of the posters from the early print runs. SINCE THE LOWER LEFT CORNER WAS REPLACED , I CANNOT TELL WHICH PRINTING IT IS SO THIS POSTER IS OFFERED AS IS , BUT IS CERTAINLY ORIGINAL IN THE SENSE IT IS FROM 1967 AND WAS EITHER THE 1ST, 2ND, OR THIRD PRINTING - ALL OF WHICH ARE EXTREMELY RARE.
