FIGHTING CARAVANS MOVIE POSTER 1931 WINDOW CARD GARY COOPER
Welcome to the auction of a absolutely guaranteed original Vintage Theater-Used 1931 window card size 14" x 22 " Movie Poster (originally before restoration measured 13" x 15 3/4" see bottom photo) from Zane Grey's Fighting Caravans . The 1931 Otto Brower directed cowboy western (based on the novel by Zane Grey) stars Gary Cooper, Lili Damita, Ernest Torrence, Fred Kohler, and Tully Marshall. The window card was restored by JAIME MENDEZ of Oceanside, CA. CONSIDERED THE BEST IN THE WORLD . IT WAS RE-BACKED USING A ORIGINAL EARLY 1930's excellent condition window card. As is always the case with this kind of restoration the card has a curve in it from side to side from the process of lifting the paper from the original card then re-gluing it with reversible vegetable based glue to the replacement original 1930's window card that has had it's paper sheet removed from it's front -then finishing by replacing the missing paper and re-creating any missing artwork. This process costs at least $300 and usually more . IT'S AFTER RESTORATION PHOTO'S ARE ALL THE ONES ABOVE THE BOTTOM PHOTO. The photo of the back was the one I used for another 1930's window card restoration . The one used on this card has a image imprinted on the entire back surface of wood, a beautiful grain pattern! it is perfectly flat but does have the image ! . Obviously the card was used at some point in a wall or whatever and obtained the pattern from many many years in that wall wherever , but it is a exactly the same example as was used originally on this window card's ORIGINAL card which is why it was used .
