 The new double lens used by The North Face on its best seller goggles is made of an outer Polycarbonate lens and an inner Acetate lens, This association makes it a premium lens,
- Polycarbonate: Polycarbonate is a material often used in eyewear for extreme activities because it provides high impact protection and is very lightweight. Transfering the technology used for sunglasses, the outer lens is decentered to avoid any optical distortion (prismatic effect) which could occur in a wrap around frame,
- Acetate: Cellulose acetate is a material used to make top-quality, resistant lenses for vision correction with great anti-fog properties, A special antifogging treatment is done to improve these natural properties,
- Antireflective Coating: On traditional double lenses, in certain light conditions, you may have a disturbing "double image" phenomenon caused by the reflection of the main image, Thanks to the anti reflective coating this reflection is cancelled.

DL (DOUBLE LENSES ANTIFOGGING)
The use of a acetate inner filter with a special antifogging treatment and the insulating gap created by connecting the two lenses through a special gasket, assure a great performance on preventing fogging.
MC (MIRROR COATING)
Exclusively by The North Face these lenses have an internal mirror-coated surface which make them impossible to damage. Mirror coating is a special treatment that gives the lens surface a shiny mirror-like appearance to reflect rays from surfaces such as water, snow and ice and increasing light filtration. |
