Ashford Two Speed Fine Tooth Drum Carder
Professionally card or blend wool or other fibers. Create your own exotic blends of fibers, textures and colors. Produces 50 gm carded fiber per 2 0unce batt that measures 22 inches by 9 inches.
High drive ratio with pullys outside the frame allows for effortless tangle free carding.
The card cloth has wire teeth with a special protective coating and a flexible rubber backing for long life. The body is made from Silver Beech hardwood.
This listing is for the new improved two speed carder with fine cloth. The two speeds allow for even more flexibility and control when carding and blending.
Use the 6:1 ration to prepare your fleece. The controlled intake and carding will produce a smooth even batt reading for blending, spinning or felting.
Use the 4:1 ratio to blend sliver, colors and different fiber types consistently into an open and airy batt.
The new carder retains the adjustable drum clearance which allows one to set the teeth distance for total control of the fiber.
Assembled with Danish oil finish. Includes two table clamps and wool remover.
This carder is strong and robust and has all nylon bearings to ensure it is light and easy to turn.
