Vintage Set of 2 Silk Mens' 'Pocket Puffs'
These unusual items are called 'POCKET PUFFS' and are apparently a dressing shortcut from the '60's. Similar to the'dickie', this was a means of giving the appearance of having a handkerchief folded in your breast pocket without actually having to do it! The company name 'Pocket MATEStm is on the front of the package with a painter's palette and two crossed paint brushes. It also says '2 PURE SILK PUFFS', wear them separately, or MIX' n MATCH, which is repeated on the back. Also on the back is this information. Pellon LINED; JUST LIKE A NECKTIE; and finally, the phrase 'ADJUSTABLE TO YOUR POCKET'. It says 'MADE IN THE USA 1966 on the bottom of the package, which is quite attractive and in very good condition. Judging from their appearance, I would say these were never used. The package measures 7 5/16" long and 3 3/4" wide. Very unique!!
