Vintage Currier & Ives Plate and Mug
The following listing is for two Currier and Ives items. The first piece is a small early plate, whose theme is 'HOMESTEAD IN WINTER'. The plate is edged with gold and is signed, 'HARKERWARE', on the back in gold also. The plate has a little bit of discoloration on the front which can be seen in the photo, and also a small blemish on the back. There is one small chip on the back of the plate also. It's diameter is only 6 1/4", making this a nice little size. The second item is a later CURRIER & IVES coffee mug, whose theme is, CENTRAL PARK IN WINTER, a scene which is apparently from 1862, as that is the date given next to the title. As you can see in the photo there is a large group of people dressed in old fashioned garb skating, and otherwise enjoying themselves. The mug is a normal coffee size.
