Vintage Pass Edward Brooke Richard Nixon Silvio Conte
The following listing is for three government visitor passes issued to an Mrs. Ivy Rogers in 1971. The first is for the White House during Richard Nixon's administration. This has a facsimile of his signature on it and the date April 20.
Richard Milhous Nixon, of course, was the 37th President of the United States (1969–1974), and the only president to ever resign the office. He was also the thirty-sixth Vice President of the United States (1953–1961).
The second pass is for the United States House of Representatives on April 19, issued by Silvio O. Conte, with his actual signature.
Silvio Ottavio Conte served as a Congressman from the state of Massachusetts in the United States House of Representatives from for 16 terms, from January 3, 1959 until his death.
The third visitor's pass is dated April 19, 1971, and has the actual signature of Senator Edward W. Brooke.
Brooke was a U.S. senator for two terms, from January 3, 1967, to January 3, 1979. In 1967, he served on the President's Commission on Civil Disorders. He was a member of the liberal wing of the Republican Party. Most recently he was in the news as Barbara Walters outed him as having been her lover in her autobiography 'Audition'.
These visitor's passes are all in very good condition and come in a black plastic case with the House of Representatives seal in gold, that says Best Wishes from Your Congressman Silvio Conte First District Massachusetts in gold also on the inner flap.
