ANTIQUE Yelloware Spongeware Decorated Stoneware Crock
The following listing is for a nice early yelloware crock. The ovoid shaped body has a coiled design and with a sponge decorated band in the middle done in brown and blue. The spongeware decoration is continued on each handle in blue. The crock has a wonderful crackled or crazed finish. It's in good condition. There is a flaw under one handle, which appears to have occurred in the firing. It is missing it's lid. This form and color is especially nice, and hard to find in today's market! It measures 8 1/4" tall and has a diameter of 6" at the top.
