*Great Finish* Antique 2 gal. Stoneware Jug w/Crown
The following listing is for a really nice old stoneware jug. It's a 2 gallon size and decorated with a crown in black paint. While this form is somewhat common, this particular jug has a wonderful old crackled finish and shows more age than often seen. The handle has a deeply impressed thumb print, and the bottom of the jug is just beautiful! It's in very good condition, although there are a few dings and imperfections as befits it's age. These are nothing glaring, and don't detract from it's beauty. As you'll see in the photos, there are a couple of paint spots on the back. These occurred in the making and are under the glaze. This is another find from the attic we bought out here in the area, where it was packed away for many, many years, and is totally fresh to the market! The jug measures approximately 13" tall. The photos do not do this piece justice at all! It's truly a wonderful old piece!
