Vintage Hall China White Rose Pert Salt Pepper Shakers
The following listing is for a large salt and pepper shaker set, ovoid in shape. Although these are not marked they are Hall China in the White Rose pattern. The shape is known as 'Pert'. An example of them can be found in the Antique Trader Pottery & Porcelain Ceramics price guide, 3rd edition, page 102. They have wonderful old fashioned roses running down the each handle. The floral decoration is continued on the side of the shakers. They have a decorative silver accent at the top. They both have their corks, but apparently pieces of them broke off at some point when someone tried to remove them. As a result, the salt shaker still has salt in it. I fear doing more damage to the cork, which seems to be stuck. Each shaker has a chip on the bottom, though nothing offensive, and the pepper shaker has a chip on it's top. Otherwise the condition is very good. These are really pretty and the unusual size is great. They measure approximately 4 1/4" tall and about 11 1/2" around the largest part of the body. These are from the attic we bought out here in the area, and are fresh to the market!
