~~~A great find for those who love the needlework the Victorian ladies so loved to use for home and personal decorative items! Now you can recreate what the fashionable ladies (maybe even your grandmothers or great-grandmothers!) displayed in their homes and gave as gifts to family and friends...
~~~ An excerpt from the booklet include: "This kind of work is know under two heads, Italian Punto tirato and Italian Punto tagliato, and comprises all needle-work where the drawing out of threads is a preliminary step to be followed by sewing over the single threads that remain and drawing them together in different ways, producing a great variety of pretty patterns. The Punto tirato open-work is where the threads are drawn out only one way of the fabric. The Punto tagliato is where the treads of both warp and woof are drawn out. ~~~ This is a CD REPRODUCTION of an 1888 Victorian source on "Drawn Work." The COPY you will receive is representative of the types of needlework expertise of earlier feminine American culture!!! If you're into nostalgia like I am you will have quite the pleasure in making antique Victorian drawn work (needlework) items for yourself or others dear to your heart just the way your great-grandmothers did!

~~~ Something to think about: This is now the time of year for the creative people to work on their sewing, needlework, crochet, knitting, embroidery, bead and other arts/hobbies prior to the hliday season. I find, for myself, that this period is about the only playtime during the whole year for my hobbies and that this playtime dwindles dramatically during the rest of the year. If we don't play now we might not have many opportunities before this time next year...
~~~ FYI: The quality of the finished product will vary with my auction items due to age and quality of the original items.
