If you are the first to bid on
this auction, using the buy-it-now option, YOU WIN!! There is no chance of being
outbid! DON'T WAIT!!
Up for bid is a CD-ROM Republication of the original
"The Priscilla Cross-Stitch Book!!!" This item has approximately 200 steel plate
etchings in its 50 pages! It includes instructions for so many items using a
variety of needle working techniques from multiple European countries. I hardly
know where to begin! (I will do my best to include what is in this fantastic
book below and fear I probably will miss some interesting stuff…)
This is certainly a huge source of historically
valuable inspiration for the creative thread and bead art souls out there.
The instructions for these items were created by experienced Victorian traditional
needle and fiber artists from 1899 and earlier! (Original is NOT for sale)
The antique and vintage yarn, threads,
crochet hooks, knitting pins or needles, fabrics, canvases, etc., can be found
on eBay quite readily. You just have to hunt a little bit! :) Or, of course, you
can utilize contemporary tools and materials found at a near by fabric, craft or
hobby store…
More than 217 pattern
examples!!! And this is not counting all the individual letters in the six
alphabets included nor the individual items included in the panoramic or complex
examples…
An expert from this wonderfully historic
instructional: "There is scarcely a pattern in this book that may not be applied
to a dozed different uses or materials, or worked in many different stitches.
And here lies one great charm of cross-stitch embroidery, the latitude enjoyed
by the worker."
(My perspective and sentiments also!)
Here is an OLD, resourceful and exceptional
embroidery, crochet, knitting, netting, cross-stitch, petit point, Guipure
D'Art, rug work, straw work, appliqué and beading instructional and design book
on CD-ROM. These instructions are characteristic of the needle arts and crafts
done by our lady ancestors! This is the perfect opportunity to purchase your own
version of another wonderful craft instructional revealing our heritage from
early America and European!
It addresses a substantial history on cross-stitch
embroidery in multiple countries from the 13th century on. It addresses
generally cross stitch (point croise) "on linen for tea cloths, towels,
serviettes, sideboard cloths and bedroom furniture, but on silk for borders,
ties, gloves and slippers."
It also
covers: Types of canvas of linen, silk and others are
discussed.
