Antique Victorian

Crazy Quilt Embroidery Patterns

CD REPUBLICATION!

Originally Published 1888!

Up for bid is a CD REPUBLICATION of ORIGINAL VICTORIAN ERA EMBROIDERY PATTERNS first published in 1888! These folks provided some of the best embroidery patterns in their day for the needlearts! The experienced art needlework artesians of the 1800's clamoured for this type of item and with good reason! (Original is NOT for sale)

This HISTORIC CD REPUBLICATION includes 12 cuts/steel plate etchings of Victorian Fan Motifs for recreating the extremely handsome needlework items of an earlier, and classier, social era! Examples would be such as: pillow shams or cases, dresser scarves, doilies or center pieces, clothing embelishments, bedspreads, quilt blocks, tea towels, tablecloths, curtains, tapastries and whatever you emagination can devise!

This CD item's contents from an ORIGINAL SOURCE is ideal for those interested in the recreationist avenues and groups, such as; Victorian, Edwardian, Civil War, Antibellum, Society for Creative Anacronism and more!

These RARE and UNIQUE illustrations will be a boon in assisting you along the way to recreating the handsome and practical fancy work items of a earlier classy and gentile society! The embroidery motifs are sized according to the original sources advised dimentions for an added bit of authentic representation (I must admit at an added bit of fussiness on my part. lol).

The patterns may easily be enlarged to make a hand embroidered 12-block quilt for your bed, the guest room or as a stupendious gift for someone very special! Or, mix with pieced blocks or embroider as a whole-cloth quilt! The possiblilities are endless!

These culturally historic designs are characteristic of the fancywork done by our ancestors during the earlier Victorian and Antibellum eras! This is the perfect opportunity to purchase your own version of craft patterns revealing our heritage from early America and Europe!

These patterns are adaptable to those who are embroidery novices, by completing them in a simple Kennsington outline stitch, or for those who are embroidery experts, by utilizing the fanciest satin, fill, mountmellick or French stitches! Personally, I plan on making a few for wall ornamentation using antique silk thread from my collection plus antique seed beads for a bit of added sparkle and snap!

You just have to hunt a little bit! :) Or, you can obtain the contemporary materials at your nearest fabric, craft or hobby store...

You may print these patterns in the original sizes or to you personal preferences. Then it is a quick process to transfer your virtually lost-to-the-modern-world-needleworker Victorian embroidery designs by any of the following methods. B y using an iron-on transfer pencil, with a pencil (or seamstress' tracing wheel) and carbon paper, or by taping the pattern sheet on a window on a sunny day and tracing directly onto the fabric with a pencil.
