Including Gothic; Church-text, Large and Small; German; Italian; Arabesque; Initials for Illumination; Rustic, Large and Small; Ornamental; and with An Analysis of the Roman and Old English Alphabets, (large and small). Architectural and Engineering Draughtsmen, Masons, Decorative Painters, Lithographers, Engravers, Carvers, Schools, ETC., ETC. Collected and designed by F. Delamotte." Originally published in 1858! We have scanned and reformatted the extremely scarce original steel plate etchings of alphabets from our copy of the Original (Victorian, Civil War, Antebellum Eras) book.

We are pleased to offer you this wonderful collection of 5 Full Sets of 13th and 14th century alphabets the author collected from various English and European museums and other sources. This CD contains some very charming alphabet patterns for recreating the charming and elegant embroidery, needlework, carving, painted items that were so popular in the mid 1800's. The degree of needlework difficultly could range from beginner to expert levels depending on the type of embroidery stitches you would choose to utilize!

You can find both the antique or contemporary arts and crafts materials needed on eBay by doing a general search for said items. You just have to look a little bit! :^) Of course, you can also obtain them from your local hobby, craft or fabric stores... 

 

You will receive all five full-page alphabet sets shown in the listing photo. You can reduce or enlarge them as you wish using reducing or enlarging options on a copying machine prior to transfering them to your material of choice.
