Spiral Bound Book Republication™

Originally Published 1923!

Up for bid is another marvelous Dakota Prairie Treasures Spiral Bound Book Republication™ of our original DMC Tatting originally published in 1923!

It contains a nice variety of Flapper Era Tatting Instructions and Patterns! It also includes the materials used, number of thread reels or balls, types of shuttles and hooks and even thread color suggestions!

This HISTORIC item includes detailed instructions and needle working techniques to make the lovely fancy work patterns included! (Original is NOT for sale)

Our new line of Spiral Bound Book Republications™ oh-so-conveniently lie flat while in use!

This is a unbelievably nice touch if you have every tried to read a pattern's instructions while your hands are full of your in progress project. As an avid needleworker myself my personal experience prompted my choice of spiral binding for it's ease-of-use alone. I bet you'll love it too!

This is certainly a fine source of historically valuable techniques and inspiration for the creative needlework, fabric and thread artists who desire to study and recreate the Victorian and Post Civil War Era knitted clothing and clothing making techniques! This is the perfect opportunity to purchase your own version of another wonderful arts and crafts instructional revealing our heritage from early America and European cultures!

Two excerpts:

"Tatting consists of knots and picots, sometimes forming circles, sometimes semicircles or scallops ; worked in fine threads it may be classed as lace work, but when medium or coarse threads are used the result must be considered as passementerie or galoon."

" Our publication consists of an explanatory treatise illustrated by 25 engravings, to which are appended 8 plates containing 28 models in natural size, accompanied by a detailed description in order to facilitate their execution.

The particularly delicate character of this lace excludes any combination of large sized motifs. Our models, very finely executed, are composed of rounds and scallops of various dimensions, well proportioned and symmetrically grouped."
