Merrie Melodies pitches a black African jungle stereotype with a crow sidekick at a lion.
COAL BLACK AND DE SEBBEN DWARFS
Arguably the most famous of all American race cartoons due both to its charicatures and fabulous jive music, this Merrie Melodies short showcases the washer woman So White and her extra-laundrarial activities with Prince Chawmin', Murder, Inc. and de Sebben Dwarfs.
FRESH HARE V. 1
Elmer Fudd and Bugs Bunny at it as usual, this time with Elmer as a Canadian Mounty - but somehow it ends up as a blackface minstrel show, and it was distributed with this ending intact to TV stations across the country in the 1960s before public pressue was brought to bear to cease this Merrie Melody cartoon from being broadcast without an excised ending.

One of the very best of all race cartoons, featuring the heavenly Pair-O-Dice Band headlining the sainted Cab Calloway, Duke Ellington, Fats Waller, Louis Armstrong, The Mills Brothers & others doing their part to take swing music out of the hands of the devil and use it to save souls with the magic of jazz. The incredible performance of "I've Got Swing For Sale" ranks among the best 30s jazz music ever to be soundtracked to film in general and a Merrie Melodies cartoon in particular!
UNCLE TOM'S BUNGALOW
A very funny take on the Harriet Beecher Stowe novel that, for all the black stereotypes, still makes it clear that the blacks are virtuous, as is Little Eva, as isn't Simon Legree. Another Merrie Melodies offering.
ANGEL PUSS
Looney Tunes now steps out to the plate and knocks us all out of the ballpark with this rather disturbing cartoon that is demeaning to blacks, cats, angels, and just about everything else save the student of bad race films!
GOLDILOCKS AND THE JIVIN' BEARS
A very funny Merrie Melodies short that has a sexy ebony lindy-hoppin' goldilocks cut a rug with the big bad wolf to the racous accompaniment of the Three Bears Jazz Band!
CONFEDERATE HONEY
Elmer Fudd's a Confederate soldier in this Merrie Melodies cartoon based on "Gone With The Wind".
LITTLE OL' BOSKO AND THE CANNIBALS
In obvious homage to the music of the great Fats Waller, this often terribly charicatured character is used as a vehicle for some of the best animation and jazz music ever to be put to film, as Bosko's cookie trip to Grandma's house ends up with the Frog King Louis Armstrong & tribe trying to cook him alive!
POP-PIE A LA MODE
A shipwrecked Popeye ends up on a desert island inhabited by - what else? - deepintheheartofafrica cannibals!
VOODOO IN HARLEM
A Walter Lantz production that shows African natives doin' their hoodoo thing in Upper Manhattan in a manner very like the "Out Of The Inkwell" series of cartoons by Max Fleischer.
TIN PAN ALLEY CATS
A surrealistic Merrie Melodies cartoon from the midst of World War II wherein a wastrel out-on-the-town gets that ole time religion after a real jazz bender highlighted by Warner Brothers Band music among the best of all race cartoons!

The journey brings her into contact with a number of natural spirits, chief among them a personification of the clouds in a caricature crazier than any this side of cloud nine!
A WARNER BROS CARTOON - BOSKO SHIPWRECKED!
Why is that whenever there's a shipwreck in old time cartoons it results in the survivors ending up with African natives trying to cook & eat them? Bosko's no help in answering this question, and for all we know, he could have been tempested out Polynesia-way in the course of this cartoon.
FELIX THE CAT - OUTDOOR INDORE
The skin show here makes it clear that sambo-type representations of African Americans could do dual duty representing the dark denizens of the Indian subcontinent in this nearly-inexplicable cartoon brimming with all that early cartoons needed to get away from and having something to do with abducting an elephant into the circus.
PAUL TERRY PRESENTS THE TALKING MAGPIES - A TERRY-TOON IN TECHNICOLOR {AKA HECKLE AND JECKLE - THE TALKING MAGPIES (V.1)}
The first of the Heckle & Jeckle series, they are Mr. & Mrs. Magpie here and they just moved in to their new home. Their fussin' & fightin''s annoyin' the neighbors and when they politely ask for quiet, man and dog get thoroughly magpied.
