With a plot so wacky it's no wonder it inspired "Laugh-In", the director of an Ole Olsen & Chic Johnson movie decides as Shemp the projectionist screens it that the film stinks & to make good they hire a producer to stage a musical revue at fancy estate to drum up interest in bringing it to Broadway. The producer's in love with the daughter of the estate owner, but she's got a fiancé & he's got his own plans. Complications grow as Chic's sister gets mistaken for a rich girl by a down & out Russian aristocrat. Filled with surrealistic film manipulation firsts that were not to be repeated until "The Ernie Kovacs Show" a generation later, it is also revered worldwide for containing some of the most celebrated lindy-hopping sequences in movie history. This film is the unrecognized Rosetta Stone of American comedy of the latter half of the twentieth century & is A MUST SEE for old & young alike! (Black & White, 1:24)
