Welcome to the auction of a absolutely guaranteed original very good condition American 1958 one sheet size 27 by 41 inch but now linenbacked movie poster for SHOWDOWN AT BOOT HILL . THIS POSTER HAS BEEN LINENBACKED IN A VERY UNUSUAL WAY , THE LINEN PART IS ALL ONE PIECE BUT THE PAPER THE LINEN IS GLUED TO THAT THE POSTER IS ALSO GLUED TOO IS NOT ONE PIECE BUT HAS A EXTRA PIECE - VERY SMALL THAT RUNS DOWN THE SIDE ON THE RIGHT EDGE OF THE POSTER . I SUPPOSE THE LINENBACKER HAD A PIECE OF PAPER ALMOST BUT NOT QUITE BIG ENOUGH TO DO A ONE SHEET AND CREATED THE EXTRA SPACE HE NEEDED BY ADDING THE PAPER RIGHT AT THE EDGE DOWN THE LEFT BORDER . You can't see this in the photo and it is not distracting but almost invisible. The buyer can have the poster re-linenbacked as the glue used is vegatable based and water soluable. The auction I bought the poster from put it this way ---Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good. The poster had tiny paper loss at the crossfolds and minor wear on the foldlines. It had pinholes around the edges. It had numbers written on the back of the center of the top border, and on the back of the poster, just above the center tagline, and they bled through to the front. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. Someone started to cut off the right excess linen and then stopped, so there is now a razor cut down the bottom half of the right edge of the poster (it does not affect the poster, but it is right next to the poster.
