American Girl KAYA Doll & Book 1st Edition Burgundy Box! Beautiful Nez Perce!
Kaya Doll & Paperback Book-In Original Burgundy Box! Rare Find! Old Sku# WDP Kaya is an extra special offering from American Girl in the Historical Doll line. This doll was approved by the Nez Perce Indian tribe as to the correctness and authenticity of this doll. Kaya has the sweetest face, so innocent looking! She also has the longest hair of any of the dolls. Her long black braids come down to the middle of her thigh. She is 1st in the series of Historical doll offered by American Girl and comes before Felicity and Elizabeth. She depicts a Nez Perce Indian girl of 1764, who loves horses and the wild country she lives in. This doll is magnificent down to the very last detail. She has shell ornaments for her braids. Her buckskin dress is hand decorated with beads and fringe. Her boots are the best! Buckskin moccasins with leather ties that go up to her shins. They look so authentic. The back of her neck is stamped "Pleasant Co 2002". This beautiful doll is a 1st Edition production doll. First edition dolls have a different belt than later edition dolls. The belt is held together with a thin piece of rawhide string. Unfortunately, the belt is cracking, and the two tiny holes are ripped. I was going to reproduce it using the original as a pattern. It still has original rawhide ties. I love the old belt, and I love the old face on the 1st edition dolls. It is much plumper and such a sweet face! This doll is in collector quality, excellent condition. She is in original braids, comes in her original box. Her face color and lip color is particularly beautiful and if I didn't have so many dolls, I would never part with her. She can stand on her own, but her arms and legs are not tight like when she was new. She is over 20 years old, so if you are sensitive to odors or mold, this may not be the doll for you.
