Kiddieland Amusement Park Birthday Party Sign Illinois
This is an original sign from the recently closed Kiddieland Amusement Park in Melrose Park, Illinois. This was purchased in a group of signs on the day they auctioned off the contents. (There was only one lot which included a large group of signs and this was it.) I personally attended the auction and removed the signs in this lot from Kiddieland the day after the auction. This sign reads "The Party's Here!" with a birthday cake with candles and appears to be in the shape of a balloon. The sign is made of wood, 3/4" thick and painted with vinyl letters. I believe this sign would have been affixed to a reserved area for a birthday party. It measures approx 14" in diameter. The sign is in very good condition - there is some minor wear - there is some light dirt - there are some light scratches. (See photo, the other photos show the sign lot at the auction site, which was in the bumper car building.) THIS WOULD BE A GREAT ITEM TO HAVE TO REMEMBER THE PARK! I've catalogued all the signs that were in the Kiddieland sign lot, assigned them numbers and will give a certificate certifying that it came from this lot at the Kiddieland auction. (I grew up in Oak Park and went to the park many times. I even remember back in the 1960s when I attended a birthday party and the Kiddieland Fire Truck came and picked up all the kids and took us to Kiddieland!)
