Southwest Entrance Sign Kiddieland Amusement Park
This is an original sign from the recently closed Kiddieland Amusement Park in Melrose Park, Illinois. This was purchased in a group of signs on the day they auctioned off the contents. (There was only one lot which included a large group of signs and this was it.) I personally attended the auction and removed the signs in this lot from Kiddieland the day after the auction. (Check out my other listings for some other signs from the park.) This sign must have been at the southwest gate of Kiddieland, a special entrance for Day Camps and Day Cares. The sign is made lucite with white vinyl letters. It measures 16" x 13-1/2". The sign is in fair, used condition, because parts of the letters have worn off (The "Y" in Day Camp, the "N" in Only. the "2" & "M" in 2:00PM) = there is light dirt on the sign (See photo, the second & third photos show the sign lot at the auction site, which was in the bumper car building.) THIS WOULD BE A GREAT ITEM TO HAVE TO REMEMBER THE PARK! There are a limited number of signs and many of the signs there were only one or two of. I've catalogued all the signs that were in the Kiddieland sign lot, assigned them numbers and will give a certificate certifying that it came from this lot at the Kiddieland auction. (I grew up in Oak Park and went to the park many times. I even remember back in the 1960s when I attended a birthday party and the Kiddieland Fire Truck came and picked up all the kids and took us to Kiddieland!)
