Happy Birthday Sign Kiddieland Amusement Park Chicago
This is an original sign from the recently closed Kiddieland Amusement Park in Melrose Park, Illinois. This was purchased in a group of signs on the day they auctioned off the contents. (There was only one lot which included a large group of signs and this was it.) I personally attended the auction and removed the signs in this lot from Kiddieland the day after the auction. This sign reads "Happy Birthday to You!" and appears to be in the shape of a balloon. The sign is made of wood, 3/4" thick and painted. I believe this sign would have been affixed to a reserved area for a birthday party. It measures approx 14" in diameter. (I believe the oldest signs in the park were wood, then lucite, then corregated plastic ones, which were the most recent.) The sign is in very good condition - there is some paint chipping along the left edge - there is some light dirt - there are some light scratches. (See photo, the second photo shows the sign lot at the auction site, which was in the bumper car building.) THIS WOULD BE A GREAT ITEM TO HAVE TO REMEMBER THE PARK!
