'35 Fredric March Les Miserables Charles Laughton Photo
This is an original promotional still from the 1935 film "Les Miserables". The photo features Fredric March and Charles Laughton. The photo has the film title at the bottom. This glossy photo would have been sent to newspapers, magazines and movie theaters to promote the film. The reference number in the lower left hand corner is "XXD-900-172". The still is in fair condition - there is a tac hole in the upper right portion of the photo (around the hat), there is a crease near it - there is a light 1" crease near Laughton's chin - there is a 3" diagonal scuff going to the right, down from Laughton's chin - there is a 3" scuff to the left of March - there is a tac hole with crease in the lower left corner of the photo - there is 1/4" trimmed from the top border - there are a few other light marks. The photo measure 8" x 10". Postage is $4.00 .This photo was printed in the 1930s and is not a new reprint. All my photos are original vintage movie studio photos from 1929 through 1936. I purchased these about 35 years ago from a man in Chicago who ran an artist's reference service in the late 1930s and 1940s. If an artist wanted a western scene he would send them a couple to use as a reference for their artwork. These were sorted by what was in the scene: western, mystery, prison, etc. I've decided to sell some of my collection of these.
